This is a question I get a lot. Of course people wonder how this little store showed up in the middle of this little town. Many visitors thinks that there is not so many toy stores in Finland anymore. Especially small ones which can not compete with the selection of the ones promoting for 'Finlands largest toy selection'.
I concidered starting up a business for some years now. I did my first entrepreneurship training soon as I moved to Joroinen. I concidered a store or a coffee house but had trouble deciding what to do. Starting a coffee house would have needed another persons help. Alone is not possible to create the products and have extensive opening hours. Finally I end up working for some lovely local entrepreneurs so this dream was put on hold. During the years I got lovely 3 kids. Also my mum was sick. Sometimes more and sometimes less and with all this private stuff I did not even think about entrepreneurship.
In december my mum passed away after beeing sick for 3 years. She left behind many diary type of letters which helped her over the difficult times. In these letters there was some regret about things she had not done. This gave me the strengt to make a decision to self employ and to follow my dreams. You will get nothing if not trying your skills and luck. Already on autumn I had visited a toy store for sale but seller and I did not look for a same kind of a deal so I decided I can do this from a scratch.
So I did some more trainings from the unemployment office. The best one was offered by Tulosmajakka. I actually did the cource in English since the timing suited me better. Of course I am realist. You have to sell a lot to be able to get salary. I still hope this will happen and this toy store will exist long time. At the moment I am planning some marketing for the website. So keep your eyes and ears open. You will see Jorolandia on different channels during autumn :D. At least thats the plan :).
